Destination Promotional Video
This Destination Promotional Video was commissioned by the Saffron Walden Tourist office from Pepper Rafferty in October of 2015. We worked closely with the Town Team to maximise a very small budget and make sure there was a return on their investment. We established the core audience and objective for the video. The town needed to attract more visitors and we were asked to showcase the variety of must-see places in the town. The logline was that Saffron Walden was a great day out.
Based in Cambridge Pepper Rafferty is a video production company local to Saffron Walden. Pepper Rafferty also has the advantage of having Jonathan Glazier a former BBC executive and award-winning director and producer as its creative head. Jonathan has the ability to create good local comp and press which also helps to promote the film.
Jonathan is also passionate about local high streets as was evident from his introduction to the video at the local Saffron Walden independent cinema “Saffron Screen” premier of the video. We were delighted with 3,000 views in the first 36 hours of being uploaded.
The film was shot on Sony a7s cameras in 4k resolution on Atomos Shogun recorders. The video was recorded in slog2 and graded in FCPX using colour finale.
Destination videos need to be part of an overall strategy on Social Media. These should involve reviews of local eateries and shops of notes. Each attraction should have its own short social video. The videos need to be sharable and defined as to child-friendly, good when it’s raining etc. The practical things we all need on a visit to a market town. This one-off video is not enough.
If you’d like a Destination Promotional Video do give us a call, we’d be delighted to help. Oh and come to Saffron Walden, it’s a great town.
